"You know what we need in Orange?  A place to get a good cup of coffee and a donut."
 
So how many times have you heard that?  Have you seen the coffee crowd sitting outside where the old Daily Grind coffee shop used to be?  The place has been closed for months and still the senate meets to discuss affairs of state and cattle.  So good news doth this messenger bring:  a bakery and coffee shop coming within easy walking distance of Main Street Orange - Not Just Desserts.

In meeting with Carol and Susan, friends and bakery partners, I am again inspired by what a bit of talent and dedication can offer.  And honestly, I've sampled thier baked goods.  Three times.  The bakery is worth the expecations and the wait.

"We wouldn't be able to do this if not for the help of Ben (Sherman).  He's been generous and helpful and is the reason we're able to get into the new location at all," said Susan. "Right now Todd Brown is finishing up our signs and we've just about finished acquiring all the equipment we need.  We believe that our customers' needs are of the utmost importance. Our entire team is committed to meeting those needs. With a combined 40 years experience our bakers have put everything that they have learned into making delicious home-made breads and pastries of superior quality, from muffins, cookies, cheesecakes, pies, wedding cakes and much, much, more. 

At Not Just Desserts Bakery we also specialize in both traditional and non-traditional cakes and cupcakes! You pick the flavor, blueberry, chocolate chip, apple cinnamon, banana nut, or the filling, and help create the design and we will make your dream cakes a reality!

The ladies are planning on opening the bakery at the end of April with hours of 7:30a to 5:30p Tuesday thru Saturday. Patio seating will provide suitable court for the senate coffee crowd and all others.  Coffee's have been specially chosen with the help of local Orange County Roasters.
